23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him ^tdeny himself and ^utake up his cross ^vdaily and follow me. 24 For ^uwhoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 ^wFor what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? 26 For ^xwhoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed ^ywhen he comes in ^zhis glory and the glory of the Father and of ^athe holy angels.

26 ⁿ“If anyone comes to me and ^odoes not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, ^pyes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
