9 Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this ^adead dog ^bcurse my lord the king? Let me go over and take off his head.”

2 And David sent out the army, one third under the command of Joab, one third under the command of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and one third under the command of ^sIttai the Gittite. And the king said to the men, “I myself will also go out with you.”

21 Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered, “Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because ⁱhe cursed the Lord’s anointed?”

18 Now Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the thirty.¹ And he wielded his spear against three hundred men² and killed them and won a name beside the three.
