8  By day the Lord ^lcommands his steadfast love,

and at ^mnight his song is with me,

a prayer to the God of my life.

6  I said,¹ “Let me remember my ⁱsong in the night;

let me ^jmeditate in my heart.”

Then my spirit made a diligent search:

5  Let the godly exult in glory;

let them ^fsing for joy on their ^gbeds.
