8 mThe righteous is delivered from trouble,
and the wicked walks into it instead.
18 uThe wicked is a vransom for the righteous,
and the traitor for the upright.
9 Then kHarbona, one of the eunuchs in attendance on the king, said, “Moreover, lthe gallows1 that Haman has prepared for Mordecai, mwhose word saved the king, is standing at Haman’s house, fifty cubits2 high.” And the king said, “Hang him on that.” 10 nSo they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. oThen the wrath of the king abated.
3 For rI am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
sI give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and tSeba in exchange for you.
4 Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.
23 Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and bno kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. 24 And the king commanded, and cthose men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions—they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.
