The Obligations of the Covenant

28 ^m“The rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, ⁿand all who have separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, their daughters, all who have knowledge and understanding,

3 As soon as the people heard the law, ^tthey separated from Israel all ^uthose of foreign descent.

30 ⁱThus I cleansed them from everything foreign, and I established the duties of the priests and Levites, each in his work;

21 It was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and ^qalso by every one who had joined them and separated himself ^rfrom the uncleanness of the peoples of the land to worship the Lord, the God of Israel.

11 Now then ^amake confession to the Lord, the God of your fathers and do his will. ^bSeparate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.”
