31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will ^gstrike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

32 Behold, ^dthe hour is coming, indeed it has come, when ^eyou will be scattered, each to his own home, and ^fwill leave me alone. ^gYet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

Jesus Foretells Peter’s Denial

31 “Simon, Simon, behold, ^bSatan demanded to have you,^{1 c}that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but ^dI have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, ^estrengthen your brothers.”

1 “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.
