8 ^lHe shall not eat what dies of itself or is torn by beasts, and so make himself unclean by it: I am the Lord.’

14 Then I said, ^s“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I have never defiled myself.^{1 t}From my youth up till now I have never eaten ^uwhat died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has ^vtainted meat come into my mouth.”

31 ^cThe priests shall not eat of ^danything, whether bird or beast, that has died of itself or is torn by wild animals.
