16 And this was why the Jews ^xwere persecuting Jesus, ^ybecause he was doing these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

Jesus Is Equal with God

18 This was why the Jews ^zwere seeking all the more to kill him, ^abecause not only was he ^bbreaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God ^chis own Father, ^dmaking himself equal with God.

41 So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, ^m“I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

Jesus at the Feast of Booths

1 After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because ^pthe Jews¹ were seeking to kill him.

59 So ^bthey picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.

22 (His parents said these things ^ybecause they feared the Jews, for ^zthe Jews had already agreed that if anyone should ^aconfess Jesus¹ to be Christ, ^bhe was to be put out of the synagogue.)

31 ^vThe Jews picked up stones again to stone him.

Jesus Faces Annas and Caiaphas

12 So the band of soldiers and their captain and the officers of the Jews¹ arrested Jesus and bound him.
