9 “My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they did to Jeremiah the prophet by casting him into the cistern, and he will die there of ^vhunger, ^wfor there is no bread left in the city.”

6 On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

10 And your food that you eat shall be ^oby weight, ^ptwenty shekels¹ a day; from day to day² you shall eat it.

16 Moreover, he said to me, ^w“Son of man, behold, ^xI will break the supply¹ of bread in Jerusalem. They shall eat bread ^oby weight and with anxiety, and they shall drink water ^oby measure and in dismay.
