2  And ^mthe Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,

the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the Spirit of counsel and might,

the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

1  ^eBehold ^fmy servant, whom I uphold,

my chosen, ^gin whom my soul delights;

^hI have put my Spirit upon him;

ⁱhe will bring forth justice to the nations.

16  ^yDraw near to me, hear this:

from the beginning I have not spoken in secret,

from the time it came to be I have been there.”

And now ^zthe Lord God has sent me, and his Spirit.

18  ^y“The Spirit of the Lord ^zis upon me,

because he has anointed me

to ^aproclaim good news to the poor.

^bHe has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives

and ^crecovering of sight to the blind,

^dto set at liberty those who are oppressed,

19  ^eto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
