4 and Abel also brought of ^vthe firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord ^whad regard for Abel and his offering,

8 Cain spoke to Abel his brother.¹ And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and ^akilled him.

4 By faith ^hAbel offered to God ⁱa more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And ^jthrough his faith, though he died, he ^kstill speaks.

11 Woe to them! For they walked in ^zthe way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain ^ato Balaam’s error and ^bperished in Korah’s rebellion.
