8 ^pAs I live, declares the Lord God, surely because ^qmy sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep,

10 Thus says the Lord God, ^rBehold, I am against the shepherds, and ^sI will require my sheep at their hand and ^tput a stop to their feeding the sheep. ^uNo longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. ^vI will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.

12 These are hidden reefs^{1 c}at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, ^dshepherds feeding themselves; ^ewaterless clouds, ^fswept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, ^guprooted;
