12 “When we took possession of this land at that time, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory beginning uat Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead with vits cities.
15 To Machir bI gave Gilead, 16 and to the Reubenites cand the Gadites I gave the territory from Gilead as far as the Valley of the Arnon, with the middle of the valley as a border, as far over as the river Jabbok, dthe border of the Ammonites;
18 “And I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘The Lord your God has given you this land to possess. iAll your men of valor shall cross over armed before your brothers, the people of Israel.
15 tuntil the Lord gives rest to your brothers as he has to you, and they also take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving them. uThen you shall return to the land of your possession and shall possess it, the land that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.”
The Inheritance East of the Jordan
8 With the other half of the tribe of Manasseh1 the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, jwhich Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord gave them:
32 These are the inheritances that Moses distributed jin the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho.
4 yAnd now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers, as he promised them. Therefore turn and go to your tents in the land where your possession lies, zwhich Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.
9 So the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned home, parting from the people of Israel at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go fto the land of Gilead, their own land of which they had possessed themselves by command of the Lord through Moses.
