6 Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Syrians ^rbecame servants to David and brought tribute. ^sAnd the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

24 And he gathered men about him and became leader of a marauding band, ^pafter the killing by David. And they went to Damascus and lived there and made him king in Damascus.

5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king ^eof Zobah, David struck down 22,000 men of the Syrians. 6 Then David put garrisons¹ in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the Lord gave victory to David² wherever he went.
