10 He rode on a cherub and flew;
he came swiftly on zthe wings of the wind.
4 he umakes his messengers winds,
7 Of the angels he says,
q“He makes his angels winds,
and his ministers a flame of fire.”
18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of jhammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. kOf one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 lThe cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 mThere I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from nbetween the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
A Lament over the King of Tyre
11 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me: 12 z“Son of man, araise a lamentation over bthe king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God:
“You were the signet of perfection,1
cfull of wisdom and dperfect in beauty.
13 You were in eEden, the garden of God;
fevery precious stone was your covering,
gsardius, topaz, and diamond,
beryl, onyx, and jasper,
sapphire,2 femerald, and carbuncle;
and crafted in gold were your settings
and your engravings.3
iOn the day that you were created
they were prepared.
14 You were an anointed jguardian cherub.
I placed you;4 you were on kthe holy mountain of God;
in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.
15 You were blameless in your ways
lfrom the day you were created,
till unrighteousness was found in you.
16 In the abundance of myour trade
you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned;
so I cast you as a profane thing from kthe mountain of God,
and I destroyed you,5 jO guardian cherub,
from the midst of the stones of fire.
